Baby Baptism Embroidery Gift

This past weekend marked a special occasion in our family - the baptism of our nephew! To commemorate the event, I embroidered a shell and the date on muslin. I'm trying to decide if I want to frame it with his photo or create blocks for baby's first year quilt. I could embroider a baby shoe and the date for his first steps and some curly hair and the date of his first haircut. What to do, what to do?

  1. It has been years since I have embroidered. My gram taught me how to embroider, knit, crochet and crewel and mom taught me needlepoint. Truth be told I haven't kept up with any of them and just started knitting and crocheting again this past summer with a little help from my friends. Still, anything above beginner is beyond my ken!

Gram didn't teach me hairpin lace, though!

    Thanks for sharing!

I love the shell with the sweet little drips of water, Marti! And the shades of coral/pink/orange in the embroidery are so pretty! xoxo Erin of Elysian Studios
